According to the Lansing State Journal this month, a local 50 year old man, Blake Anthes, was able to lose 130 pounds in just six months following the Medifast meal delivery system, which was recommended by his primary care physician. According to Anthes: “I ate six times a day, five pre-packaged meals and one “real meal. The six meals kept me from getting hungry and going to the snack cupboard. I quickly learned about portion control, how to balance proteins and carbohydrates, how to maintain a good, consistent metabolism and just general overall good eating habits.” Blake feels greatest challenge was simply learning how to balance foods. “The diet plan is actually easy. The most difficult part of any diet is the six inches between the ears,” Anthes said. “I really feel good for the first time in a long time!”

One of the biggest struggles faced by many is two-fold: how to lose weight, and then how to keep it off. There are many fast weight loss plans out there, which can work well for those needing to lose a few pounds before a big event. But even these short-term diets can pose a health risk. Some diets can contain weight loss accelerants like ephedrine, which can speed up the heart and damage the liver. Is it really worth it to risk your health for the goal of being healthier? Thankfully, there are diet plans out there that remain perfectly safe and much easier than you thought to start. One of the best is the Medifast Diet. Using your body’s process of ketosis, this popular plan can help you realize measurable weight loss without any risk to your overall health.
