Atkins Diet - Preparing Mentally

Changing the way you eat and live is more than just a physical change in diet.  Instead, it is a transformation of self that needs to originate from within, so preparing mentally for your journey is the best method for success.

Another helpful preparation tip is to consider the foods you think you may be missing the most, and determine appropriate substitutions for them during the various phases of the Atkins Diet.  For instance, pasta lovers may want to investigate local Asian markets for Shirataki noodles, which are a great low carb and low calorie noodle substitute.  Trying a denser flat bread instead of regular wheat may help to alleviate cravings for a "real" sandwich.  The possibilities really are limitless, and with a bit of creativity, you are sure to come up with your own substitutions.  Often, just knowing that these alternate choices are available is enough to keep most dieters from weakening and cheating with regular foods.
