Atkins Diet - Sample Daily Menu

You can be sure that life on the Atkins Diet looks pretty sweet, if you are wondering about your available choices and options.  From morning to evening, an array of delicious foods are within your reach and you may even have trouble choosing.

As with any other healthy lifestyle, start your day on the Atkins Diet with a great breakfast.
During the induction, or first, phase, you can enjoy scrambled eggs, or fry them over easy with a little fat-free cooking spray.  Add ham or Canadian bacon, and your usual coffee or tea.  For lunch, you can choose chicken salad, burger patty with cheese, or a big, green salad.  For dinner, the choices are almost limitless.  Satisfy your hunger with steak, roast, or chops, along with a salad and steamed veggies from the list of low carbohydrate options.

Perhaps you'd rather have a hot cereal than eggs, or even Atkins Mini-Muffins.  Spice up your lunch with Buffalo Wings, ham and cream cheese pinwheels, or thinly-sliced beef steak over greens.  Even elegant dinners are not off your diet with roast lamb and mint sauce, oven-fried catfish, or the Atkins recipe Creamy Almond Chicken.  Fashion a taco salad from chicken or ground beef, and revel in the freshly chopped tomato, onion, avocado, and olives, all with a dollop of sour cream and some sugar-free salsa or taco sauce.

Curb your sweet tooth cravings and indulge in one of the many Atkins approved snacks.  Shakes, meal-replacement bars, and water flavoring packets are all great choices when you need a little something to keep going until your next meal.  Macadamia nuts, another great choice, are about half fiber and only 2 carbs for a quarter cup serving.  The satisfying crunch fills your need to snack, while the fiber and healthy oils are great for combating any digestion problems you may experience.

You can add some carbs back into your diet with the second phase of the plan, where breakfast can begin to include cottage cheese, cantaloupe, and strawberries.  Lunch and dinner also become more varied with some of the higher carb vegetables back on the menu.  Asparagus, broccoli, zucchini, squash, and okra are all great choices to liven up your meals. As you progress through the four phases of the Atkins Diet plan, you will be able to enjoy all of the tasty and healthy foods available.
